Jane Dudley
At the age of 21 I qualified as an art teacher but only pursued this pathway for a couple of years before setting off along new roads and into new experiences. Many years later and in moving to Suffolk I was inspired to pick up my pencils and paint brushes once again and was thrilled to be invited to become a member at Sudbourne Park Printmakers. It is wonderful to have a space in which I can explore the processes of printmaking, amongst a great group of artists.
Colour, space and light excite me and I am drawn to the abstraction, reduction and simplification of essential qualities that I perceive in my environment and in human existence. For me creativity is without words to explain it. It is beyond words that pin it down (e.g. it does or doesn’t please or satisfy) and springs from a source that is unknowable.
I am and have been a practising psychotherapist for many years and my philosophy is, ” The moment we try to explain it, it is lost” Dante.
