Jane Dudley
At the age of 21, I qualified as an art teacher but only pursued this pathway for a couple of years before setting off along new roads and into new experiences. Many years later and after moving to Suffolk I was inspired to pick up my pencils and paint brushes once again, and thrilled to be invited to be a member at the Sudbourne printmakers at the beginning of 2024. This studio space has not only offered me the opportunity to explore the many processes in printmaking, of which I am a novice, but also the chance to work alongside, and find friendship with other artists.
Colour, space and light excite me and I am drawn to the abstraction, reduction and simplification of essential qualities I see in all existence.
For me creativity is… without words to explain it; beyond words that pin it down… It pleases or not… It satisfies or not… springing from a source that is unknowable.
“The moment we try to explain it, it’s lost” Dante.
Alongside this I am and have been a practising psychotherapist for many years.
